CFL recently issued the following Advisory to our Clients regarding the automatic application of Cargo Insurance protection beginning in time for the Peak Season.

As valued Customer we would like to inform you that effective immediately, CFL will automatically apply cargo insurance protection of US$10,000 for Dry Containers at a Premium of US$50.00 per Container and US$15,000 of protection for Reefer Containers at a Premium of US$70.00 per Container.

Please note you have the option to decline the Insurance coverage but with the current supply chain logistics conditions, we strongly recommend you take advantage of this Value Added Service for your Cargo especially during the Peak Season. 

If you wish to decline, you can submit the Waiver Form so the Insurance cost & protection is not applied to your shipments.

You also have the ability to purchase additional Insurance coverage should the value of your Dry or Reefer shipment exceed the above values.

October traditionally begins the Peak Season for shipping cargo.

In a message to the Trade, CFL’s CEO, David Ross encouraged Clients to get ahead of the Peak by shipping cargo now.

“Nothing is usual this year and our efforts to alert Clients and encourage them to ship NOW is in full swing already.  Space, Equipment, Trucking, Rail, Ports are all challenging to say the least. The earlier the shipping process starts the better” said Ross.

With transit times being stretched by the various headwinds facing Shippers, it’s important to note that we are less than 90 days from Christmas Day and typically Clients want products on the shelf ready for sale at least by mid-November or before so you can see time is of the essence.”

CFL has been meeting and working with the Carriers, Truckers and Terminal Operators in order to streamline the flow of Containers, Delivery and extra hours if necessary to allow the movement of cargo to go forward uninterrupted.  CFL has 48 Agents and Offices Globally and offers service from North America, Asia, Europe, Central / South America and the Caribbean.

CFL Montego Bay, recently welcomed and worked the BF Leticia at Port Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The Vessel, operated by the Global Carrier CMA-CGM, was the 80th Vessel handled by the Company.

The CFL Project Team safely and successfully secured and delivered a large Rock Crushing Plant from China to Jamaica.

The Plant will be used for infrastructure development on the island with the construction of Roads and aggregate for various building foundations.

Comprising of some large, heavy and out of gauge pieces, the machinery was disassembled and loaded into 24 x 40’ containers and 3 flat racks in order to deliver the shipment at a competitive price and to use available vessel space in the very tight Asia/Caribbean Cargo market.

“It was a great job by the Team especially the CFL Montego Bay Team, who coordinated with our Asia colleagues in order to secure the Vessel space and have the Cargo disassembled and stuffed in the Containers timely” said CFL CEO, David Ross.

CFL, together with two major Caribbean Companies, Rainforest SeaFoods and Wisynco joined together to receive, consolidate and ship 4 x 40’ Containers of various relief supplies to St. Vincent as part of a Caribbean wide response to the devastating eruption of the Soufrière Volcano.
 
The Volcano caused the disruption of everyday life and the evacuation of thousands of people within the proximity of the Volcano.
 
Widespread Ash clouds and falling Ash were creating further challenges for the Island’s communication, roads, and citizens.
 
Cruise operators, Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Lines assisted by using Vessels to accommodate the displaced residents.
 
CFL is proud to serve St. Vincent on a weekly basis and responded quickly to assist in the ongoing Relief effort.
 

As the saying goes, “It’s better in the Bahamas” and it certainly was as CFL delivered to site, a Bridge Construction Project in the Bahamas.

Originating in Europe, the components were loaded into 54 Teu’s for shipping.

CFL arranged the receiving, transfer and delivery in Europe, shipping to the Caribbean and delivering to the final destination Island by RO/RO Landing Craft Vessel and final Trucking to site.

CFL’s Project Team in Europe and Miami combined efforts to secure this cargo safely and timely to the site.
